SuitX Phoenix Introduction
A little over five years ago I was so badly injured in a terrorist attack that the idea of ever walking again was just a dream.
Today, I would like to announce that I am walking!
Never underestimate the ability of a young, very determined female to find the technology she needs to make something happen!
I am very pleased to introduce you to my new Phoenix exoskeleton designed and built by the amazing team at #SuitX in Emeryville, California.
I first met the SuitX team in February 2020, just before the Covid-19 pandemic went global. For the past year we have been in constant communication and negotiations as to how to make this opportunity become real.
Last week a member of the SuitX team flew to Florida. We arranged to work at the Fyzical Therapy & Balance center in Lake Worth as the exoskeleton’s new home base. Joanna Franz, who we know from the USA para-dressage Team, came to work with us.
I am now working twice a day, doing laps, sitting, standing, relearning how to balance on my own two feet!
The best part? Standing up and getting HUGS!!
Thank you to EVERYONE at SuitX, to Joanna, to the team at Fyzical LW for giving us the space we need! This is a major breakthrough for me and I thank you ALL!
